Paddle & Pedal the Clark Fork River with Montana Dirt Girls

Paddle & Pedal the Clark Fork River with the Montana Dirt Girls
Meet up with Montana Dirt Girls at 6:00 pm Tuesday, August 11 at the UM Footbridge Parking area to float the Clark Fork from the Sha-Ron put-in in East Missoula to the UM Footbridge, then ride bikes back to Sha-Ron via the Kim Willams Trail

August 11 @ 6:00 pm 9:00 pm

It’s going to be a hot one so we’ll try something different.

The plan is to float the Clarkfork River from Sha-Ron put in, in East Missoula to the University of Montana Footbridge, then ride our bikes back to the put-in to pickup to our vehicles, via the Kim Williams trail.  The float and ride are about 3.5 miles each. We’ll get one person to stay with the tubes/boats/boards until the group returns. Bring a bike that you don’t mind locking outside by the University. We’ll carpool from the University so everyone doesn’t need to drive or ride but it’s still fun to do.

You can use a float tube, kayak, paddleboard or anything else you can think of for the float part. Float tubes are ~$15 at many gas stations and you can rent inflatable kayaks or paddleboards at several places including Trailhead. Love Boat, LB Snow & the University.

If you have any questions, email back or post on the Facebook Group. Several gals have multiple boats/boards and are willing to share. If you want to use a board or kayak, please email back and we’ll connect you with the person lending them before the float.

Bring beverages to stay hydrated, sunscreen and a shirt if it gets chilly at the end.
