June 28, 2025 @ 8:00 pm – June 29, 2025 @ 1:30 am
Doors @ 7:00 pm
Get ready to step back in time and dance the night away as Elephant Gerald Presents Speakeasy Swing Night!
Elephant Gerald is a dynamic collaboration between three of Missoula’s hottest jazz bands – The JIVE, Night Blooming Jasmine, and The Skalsky Brother Quartet – who come together to ignite the stage with the infectious spirit of gypsy swing.
The project aims to infuse Missoula’s live music scene with vibrant, danceable, and soul-stirring gypsy jazz through rotating performances, community engagement, and a genre-blending supergroup performance.
Band Profiles:
The JIVE
This powerhouse quintet thrives on high-octane energy and big band charisma packed into a compact format. Drawing inspiration from the hot jazz styles of Parisian cafés and New Orleans street corners, The JIVE brings brassy exuberance and tight rhythms that get feet moving and spirits lifted. Their sound leans modern with playful improvisation and vocal interludes that keep audiences engaged.
The Skalsky Brother Quartet
Built on virtuosic solo and precision ensemble playing. The Skalsky Brother Quartet brings a technically dazzling take on traditional gypsy jazz. Their performances are marked by blistering tempos, intricate guitar interplay, and a deep reverence for Romani musical heritage. Purists at heart they’re the perfect foundation to ground the Elephant Gerald Project in authenticity and musicianship.
