Torrents First Friday – Raiz y Rama at The Confluence Center

November 7, 2025 @ 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
The Confluence Center (Western Montana’s Home for Nonprofit Events) art program Torrents is thrilled to present a magical evening of art and community! This month we proudly present the special group exhibition Raiz y Rama” (Root and Branch), guest curated by local Latina artist Krissy Ramirez, and meant to coincide with Día de los Muertos.
“Raiz y Rama” will highlight universal themes of life and death, and how traditions of Día de los Muertos have transcended through geographical boundaries. From ruminations on the strength of the human spirit where hope, healing, and the freedom that follows can shatter boundaries, to the ceramic recreation of favorite cultural dishes that bring loved ones together, to communications with the spirit realm, this exhibit will display a variety of viewpoints on the beloved cultural holiday as well as what makes us all human despite differences.
The exhibit will feature seventeen local and national Latine artists in a variety of media. We’re proud to feature select works by:
Rachel Calderón-Navarro, Patricia Countryman, April Dearduff, Andrea Garcia, Monica Gilles-BringsYellow, Nicole Hamm, Hannah Kautto, Diana Ingalls Leyba, José Galván Martinez, Marissa Nestor, Vesna Vera O’Connor, Lauren Orozco, Ismara Partidas, Dina Perlasca, Krissy Ramirez, Fiorella Michelis-Rosas, and Fernando Serrano.
Get a sneak peak at the exhibit during our 3rd Annual Día de los Muertos Celebration on Sunday, November 2 from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Then, join us for the exhibit opening on First Friday, November 7 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, which will include live music by Canta Brasil, plus free traditional Latin snacks and drinks. The exhibit will remain on display through November 28, and can be seen by appointment through the Center by calling 406-926-6526.
