UM Percussion Ensemble Spring Concert at Dennison Theater
March 29 @ 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm
The UM Percussion Department is excited to present the 2024 Spring Percussion Concert!
This show will feature eclectic music for percussion starting with Christopher Rouse’s piece “Bonham”, dedicated to the memory of Led Zeppelin’s famous drummer John “Bonzo” Bonham.
The beautiful sounds of the marimba will be featured in Cloud Forest by Blake Tyson and featuring graduating senior Autumn Schenck on marimba.
The centerpiece of the concert will be the music of the 1970’s fusion group GONG! with the compositions Percolations and Esnuria featuring graduating senior Sam Purvis on drumset.
The second half will feature the popular UM Islanders Steel Band performing the music of the Caribbean including Plenty Lovin’ by Ray Holman, and Como Una Estrella by Tommy Olivencia.
