Join Women Bike Missoula at Great Allegheny Passage and C&O Towpath Adventure –

Renate, Julie, Carol & Diana took the 365 mile trail journey on former rail lines & tow paths from Pittsburgh, PA to Washington DC this past May.

The route was almost exclusively off roads since it followed the old train lines of the Western Maryland Railway and abandoned towpath along the Chesapeake & Ohio Canals.

These trails make for a great 7-8 day bicycle ride or can easily be broken into smaller segments. It was surprisingly rural and full of spring flora, animals and waterfalls.

There is so much history to be explored in this region that you could easily spend two weeks along the route and still not see it all.

Come join us to get a taste of the different trails and explore options for planning your own trip whether you want to camp or stay in B&B’s along the route. We are happy to share some trip planning advice and resources to plan your own trip
