Welcome to April, spring has sprung! The MUG has compiled the most comprehensive list of events from Thursday thru Sunday in Missoula and around Western Montana, all right here for you to make your own Weekend PICKS!
The first weekend of April brings another First Friday in Downtown Missoula (and Hamilton, too), with many stores holding art exhibits, free snacks and beverages, and music to soothe your worn out week-tortured soul.
Sunday just happens to be National Beer Day, and we are very well positioned with all our fantastic local breweries to wholeheartedly support…don’t mind if we do!
It’s spring in the valleys, and winter in the mountains right now! While it’s rain down low, there’s fresh snow dumps happening this weekend at the high elevations; you’ll want to check around the area resorts to keep an eye on who has the most perfect spring conditions! The MUG has a one-stop Snow Conditions page. We have real-time live snow report links for all the Western Montana ski resorts, plus area XC grooming conditions, avalanche forecasts, and even links for fat bike trails – and MDT road reports! There are more than 50 local music shows of one kind or another in the area throughout the weekend – we have options!
No matter what direction you wanna get outta town, you can’t go wrong. Lots of early springtime activities and events are happening not only around Missoula, but all the way up the Flathead and the Bitterroot valleys, east to Phillipsburg and Anaconda, and out west past Alberton. If you’re headed up to Whitefish and Glacier, there are some outstanding pit stops to make along the way.
Get out and enjoy our locally-owned bars & restaurants with Montana grown / made food and beverages – they need your business! Try a new local brew! Support our local artists and vendors at the area markets. Take the family for a brisk hike. Get back out on the mountain bike. Catch a classic movie screening or a stand-up comedy night. Stretch that big brain at one of the local trivia nights. Sing your favorite karaoke song, or catch a live music show. Enjoy safely and responsibly.
