Let’s leap into March! Thursday gives us a bonus day to launch into this busy winter weekend. The MUG has compiled the most comprehensive list of events from Thursday thru Sunday in Missoula and around Western Montana, all right here for you to make your own Weekend PICKS!
First Friday ever so coincidentally falls on March 1st – Downtown Missoula will be buzzing with debuting art exhibits, free snacks and music all over. It’s a great excuse to get out and get your weekend rolling on a high note.
Logjam Presents is keeping downtown humming. At the Wilma, the Elovaters “Endless Summer” Tour with Shwayze and Clair Wright comes to town. The 2024 Fly Fishing Film Tour screens at the Wilma Saturday. At the Top Hat, Dead and Down play a free show Friday night, and Rob Wolf plays a free show Saturday.
Skiing? It’s on. With some pretty big dumps at the high elevations, you’ll want to check around the area resorts to keep an eye on who has the most perfect conditions! The MUG has a one-stop Snow Conditions page. We have real-time live snow report links for all the Western Montana ski resorts, plus area XC grooming conditions, avalanche forecasts, and even links for fat bike trails – and MDT road reports! There are more than 70 local music shows of one kind or another in the area throughout the weekend – we have options!
No matter what direction you wanna get outta town, you can’t go wrong. Lots of activities and events are happening not only around Missoula, but all the way up the Flathead and the Bitterroot valleys, east to Phillipsburg and Anaconda, and out west past Alberton. If you’re headed up to Whitefish and Glacier, there are some outstanding pit stops to make along the way.
Get out and enjoy our locally-owned bars & restaurants with Montana grown / made food and beverages – they need your business! Try a new local brew! Support our local artists and vendors at the winter markets. Take the family for a brisk winter hike. Go exploring on the fat bike. Catch a classic movie screening or a stand-up comedy night. Stretch that big brain at one of the local trivia nights. Sing your favorite karaoke song, or catch a live music show. Enjoy safely and responsibly.
