It’s hot, hot, hot! The MUG has compiled the most comprehensive list of events from Thursday thru Sunday in Missoula and around Western Montana, all right here for you to make your own Weekend PICKS!
Missoula Downtown Partnership’s Downtown Tonight is happening from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm Thursday at Caras Park featuring local food trucks, vendors and live music.
You can take the kiddos to a grade-schoolers’ performance of “Rapunzel” at 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm on Friday at Missoula Children’s Theatre.
Logjam Presents has a music-packed weekend! Melissa Etheridge and Jewel pair up for a sold-out Thursday night concert at the KettleHouse Amphitheater in Bonner. On Friday, Blitzen Trapper performs with Louisa Stancioff opening at The Wilma in Downtown Missoula. Ziggy Marley with Lettuce will be at the KettleHouse Amphitheater on Saturday. On Sunday evening, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit with special guest Adeem the Artist will perform at KettleHouse Amphitheater.
Sapphire Lutheran Homes’ Free Summer Concert Series wraps up with “British Export” – an excellent Beatles tribute live outdoor show, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm Friday in Hamilton.
Up in Whitefish, Outriders present the Under the Big Sky Music Festival, Rodeo & Roundup happening all weekend from Friday thru Sunday at Big Sky Mountain Ranch.
The Mission Valley Cruisers host their 3rd annual Beers & Gears Car Show 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday at Ronan Cooperative Brewery. The next day, the 406 Cruisers / Hot Rods club have their Cool Summer Nights Car Show & Swap Meet at the Lakeside Motel & Resort / Trout Creek Park from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Saturday.
Sign up for the Big Sky Challenge Hike to benefit the Brain Injury Alliance of Montana at 8:00 am Saturday at Snowbowl in Missoula.
Bicycle road racing returns to Montana with the 2024 Pintler Classic Road Race starting at 10:00 am & finishing in Philipsburg on Saturday.
Western Montana’s farmers markets are in full swing for the season. Missoula alone has five Saturday markets, and with the rest of the area bustling with fresh local markets every day of the week and weekend. Some frosty tropical beverages might be just the ticket to help cool you down at the 5th Annual Northwest Margarita Fest 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm Saturday at Downtown Missoula’s Caras Park. With the sweltering heat, they could not have picked a better time for this event to be happening.
There are at least 70 local music shows of one kind or another in the area throughout the weekend – we have options!
No matter what direction you wanna get outta town, you can’t go wrong. Lots of summer Independence Day weekend activities and events are happening not only around Missoula, but all the way up the Flathead and the Bitterroot valleys, east to Phillipsburg and Anaconda, and out west past Alberton. If you’re headed up to Whitefish and Glacier, there are some outstanding pit stops to make along the way.
Get out & enjoy our locally-owned bars & restaurants with Montana grown / made food and beverages – they need your business! Try a new local brew! Support our local artists and vendors at the area farmers markets. Take the family for a summertime hike. Get out on the mountain bike. Catch a classic movie screening or a stand-up comedy night. Stretch that big brain at one of the local trivia nights. Sing your favorite karaoke song, or catch a live music show. Enjoy safely and responsibly. Stay cool, and wear sunscreen!
