You Should Have Been Here Yesterday: Missoula Valley Winter Market & Vintage and Rummage Sale
A sure sign that Missoula can close the book on summer and open the fall / winter season ahead is the passage of the summer farmers markets to the winter markets. Saturday, November 14th, the Missoula Valley Winter Market made its 2020 debut in new digs at the former Lucky’s store location at Southgate Mall. With about 50 vendors, the former grocery store was full of fresh fall veggies, handmade pastries, locally made hot sauce, meat and cheese choices from local producers, plus lots more.
I grabbed some Sheep Milk’s Grilling Cheese from Tucker Family Farm. I’m looking forward to frying this cheese up!
Another pop-up at Southgate Mall over the weekend was a Vintage and Rummage Sale in The Giggle Box area of the mall. This two day event was a fun collaboration of local and out of town vendors selling everything from vintage mid-century modern ashtrays to silver tea sets. Wicker was seen in abundance, as well as brass and glass tables and bar carts. People were finding treasures and taking home smiles. Hopefully we will see more events like this pop-up around town. We’ll keep you posted when we see them!
Missoula Valley Winter Market will be open every Saturday until April 2021. If you missed it this week, put it on your calendar for the Saturdays to come! There is ample parking and lots of space to spread out.
