Welcome to the last weekend of February! Saturday brings a full Snow Moon – make the most of it. The MUG has compiled the most comprehensive list of events from Thursday thru Sunday in Missoula and around Western Montana, all right here for you to make your own Weekend PICKS!
The annual Big Sky Documentary Film Festival continues thru Sunday. With multiple showtimes daily, and multiple venues showing films, you’re sure to find a few new docs to soak up in the days ahead.
Skiing? It’s on. With this stretch of warm pre-spring weather, you’ll want to check around the area resorts to keep an eye on who has excellent conditions! The MUG has a new Snow Conditions page. We have real-time live snow report links for all the Western Montana ski resorts, plus area XC grooming conditions, avalanche forecasts, and even links for fat bike trails – and MDT road reports! Check it out here, and bookmark it on your browser. Keep your tips up, try the red beers, and tip your lifties. We’re here to help.
There are more than 80 local music shows of one kind or another in the area throughout the weekend – we have options!
No matter what direction you wanna get outta town, you can’t go wrong. Lots of activities and events are happening not only around Missoula, but all the way up the Flathead and the Bitterroot valleys, east to Phillipsburg and Anaconda, and out west past Alberton. If you’re headed up to Whitefish and Glacier, there are some outstanding pit stops to make along the way.
Get out and enjoy our locally-owned bars & restaurants with Montana grown / made food and beverages – they need your business! Try a new local brew! Support our local artists and vendors at the winter markets. Take the family for a brisk winter hike. Go exploring on the fat bike. Catch a classic movie screening or a stand-up comedy night. Stretch that big brain at one of the local trivia nights. Sing your favorite karaoke song, or catch a live music show. Enjoy safely and responsibly.
