The Ravalli County Fair & Rockin’ RC Rodeo is happening nightly this week thru Saturday at the Ravalli County Fairgrounds in Hamilton.

The Joan Zen Band is the featured live music the final episode of the summer season at Downtown Tonight in Missoula’s Caras Park from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm Thursday.

Logjam Presents welcomes KALEO for a live performance on their Payback Tour 2024 with Chance Peña at the KettleHouse Amphitheater in Bonner at 8:00 pm Thursday. Lindsey Stirling comes in for a live concert performance on the Duality Tour with special guest Saint Motel at the KettleHouse Amphitheater in Bonner at 7:00 pm Friday.

Labor Day weekend brings the Camp Horror Film Festival to The Roxy Theater on Missoula’s Hip Strip with trashy B-horror films & shorts showing Thursday thru Sunday.

The Bigfork Summer Playhouse hosts performances of “Rock ‘n Roll – The Hits” all weekend (Thursday thru Sunday), nightly from 7:30 pm to 9:45 pm.

Enjoy an evening of reimagined jazzy pop hits with the Vintage Pop Second Story Band at 101 Central in Whitefish at 8:00 pm Thursday.

The 8th annual Woodchuck Harvest Festival, an initiative benefiting local youth music and arts education, will be headlined by the talented duo El Wencho in Florence Friday beginning at 4:00 pm.

Pedal your bike to Ogren Park at Allegiance Field in Missoula on Friday, August 30 for a free family-friendly showing of Kung Fu Panda 4 starting 5:30 pm on the ballpark big screen with concession proceeds benefiting Watson Children’s Shelter – gates open at 4:30 pm.

As if you needed any help enjoying a Rattlesnake neighborhood sunset, John Floridis is performing at Ten Spoon Vineyard + Winery in Missoula Friday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The Gravy Ladles return to play one more summer show at The Old Post in Downtown Missoula 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm Friday for your favorite tunes, foods, drinks, and merriment.

Transport yourself Friday to Stave & Hoop in Downtown Missoula and let Josh Farmer serenade the night away with your favorite piano bar song requests from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

Western Montana’s farmers markets are hitting the home for the summer season.  Missoula alone has five Saturday markets, and with the rest of the area bustling with fresh local markets every day of the week and weekend. Local favorites Wolf and the Moons will be howling at Ten Spoon Vineyard + Winery in Missoula Saturday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. (Pro tip: come for the tunes, stay for the wood-fired pizza.)

The University of Montana Grizzlies Football season opens at 7:00 pm Saturday vs. the Missouri State Bears at Washington-Grizzly Stadium; some tickets are still available on GrizTix.com.

There’ll be no shortage of excitement when Endless Dwarfs Wrestling takes over the Evaro Bar Saturday at 7:00 pm.

High-flying motocross excitement returns to the Flathead County Fairgrounds in Kalispell with Top Dawg Arenacross starting at 7:00 pm Saturday.

After the Griz Game, rage your way out of August and into September with the Ticket Sauce Trio performing live on stage at The Union Club Bar & Grill in Downtown Missoula starting at 9:00 pm Saturday.

Experience a Candlelight Concert featuring the music of Coldplay on Strings at Missoula Children’s Theatre at 6:30 pm Saturday; and another Candlelight Concert featuring the music of Adele at MCT at 9:00 pm.

The annual Helmville Labor Day Rodeo is happening at the Helmville Rodeo Grounds all day Sunday, and Labor Day / Monday.

The 16th annual Rumble in the Bay Car Show celebrates the “Year of the Rat Rod” in Downtown Bigfork Sunday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Billy G-Music will be performing live country tunes out on the back porch from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm Sunday at The Jack Saloon in Lolo.

The final summer Bigfork Monday Market happens from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm on Labor Day in Downtown Bigfork at Lake Baked / River View Bar. While you’re there, Bo DePeña brings his country-blues band up from Texas to perform at the River View Bar from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

There are at least 70 local music shows of one kind or another in the area throughout the Labor Day weekend – we have options!

No matter what direction you wanna get outta town, you can’t go wrong. Lots of Labor Day weekend activities and events are happening not only around Missoula, but all the way up the Flathead and the Bitterroot valleys, east to Phillipsburg and Anaconda, and out west past Alberton. If you’re headed up to Whitefish and Glacier, there are some outstanding pit stops to make along the way.

Get out & enjoy our locally-owned bars & restaurants with Montana grown / made food and beverages – they need your business! Try a new local brew! Support our local artists and vendors at the area farmers markets. Take the family for a summertime hike. Get out on the mountain bike. Catch a classic movie screening or a stand-up comedy night. Stretch that big brain at one of the local trivia nights. Sing your favorite karaoke song, or catch a live music show. Enjoy safely and responsibly.
