New Year’s Weekend PICKS: Thursday, December 30th thru Sunday, January 2nd
Whew. What a year! We’re not usually ones to rush time along, but to be honest it feels good to show the end of 2021 the door, and usher in 2022. Happy New Year from The MUG!
We’ve compiled the most comprehensive list of New Year’s weekend events in Western Montana, all right here for you to make your own Weekend PICKS.
Since New Year’s Eve falls on a Friday, this year it’s a big one. We have Thursday through Sunday to shortcut (see just above); and for Friday, we have shortcuts to all the towns in Western Montana for everything going on for New Year’s EVEnts.
While Friday gets the spotlight, there are quite a few other worthy events happening Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. It’s a holiday weekend – take advantage of your time off and make the most of it.
Whether you’re hosting company for the holiday, or visiting our corner of the world, The MUG is here to guide you around town and western Montana for all the good stuff happening this weekend.
Ski season is officially open, with all the local hills open for business. The past week has brought some seriously good coverage for the base, and this weekend promises another really big dump of fresh powder – Sunday’s looking warm enough to be pleasant for most.
You can check current conditions via the links here for Snowbowl, Lost Trail, Whitefish, and Discovery. There’s already outstanding conditions for XC at Lolo Pass ,Pattee Canyon, and Rattlesnake; the UM Golf Course is ready for action. FatBike Missoula has new groomers, and is has been packing tracks at Twin Creeks. Bitterroot Backcountry Cyclists are reporting good fat biking on the trails around Lake Como and other areas rideable soon, too.
No matter what direction you wanna get outta town, you can’t go wrong. Activities and events are happening not only around Missoula, but all the way up the Flathead, and the Bitterroot valleys.
Get out and enjoy our locally-owned bars & restaurants with Montana grown / made food and beverages. Sing your favorite karaoke song for NYE, or catch a live show. Enjoy safely and responsibly.
Please confirm event details at the source before you go. Last minute changes are common, especially due to weather. With each event listing, we try to include a web page or event link with more information you can check for changes.
