Well, well, well – Hello February! As much as we like this t-shirt & flip-flops weather, we need more winter! Patience, it’ll happen. Probably. The MUG has compiled the most comprehensive list of events from Thursday thru Sunday in Missoula and around Western Montana, all right here for you to make your own Weekend PICKS!
Skiing? Most of the of the area resorts are fully open, lifts are spinning, and it’s go-time! With our winter season in full swing, The MUG has added a new Snow Conditions page. We have real-time live snow report links for all the Western Montana ski resorts, plus area XC grooming conditions, avalanche forecasts, and even links for fat bike trails – and MDT road reports! Check it out here, and bookmark it on your browser. Keep your tips up, try the red beers, and tip your lifties. We’re here to help.
With the turn of the month, that means First Friday will have most places in Downtown Missoula (and Hamilton & elsewhere) with open doors, free bevvies and pu-puu’s, and all kinds of cool new art to ogle.
Friday also just so happens to be Groundhog Day – we believe that anything worth doing is worth overdoing – so put your good groove on repeat and enjoy all the opportunities.
There are more than 70 local music shows of one kind or another in the area throughout the weekend… we have options!
No matter what direction you wanna get outta town, you can’t go wrong. Lots of activities and events are happening not only around Missoula, but all the way up the Flathead and the Bitterroot valleys, east to Phillipsburg and Anaconda, and out west past Alberton. If you’re headed up to Whitefish and Glacier, there are some outstanding pit stops to make along the way.
Get out and enjoy our locally-owned bars & restaurants with Montana grown / made food and beverages – they need your business! Try a new local brew! Support our local artists and vendors at the winter markets. Take the family for a brisk winter hike. Go exploring on the fat bike. Catch a classic movie screening or a stand-up comedy night. Stretch that big brain at one of the local trivia nights. Sing your favorite karaoke song, or catch a live music show. Enjoy safely and responsibly.
