Weekend PICKS: Thursday, February 9th thru Sunday, February 12th

Superbowl Weekend! Pre-Valentine’s Day Weekend! What to do?
The Missoula Underground is here to help with all the top Weekend PICKS to make it all work!
The MUG has compiled the most comprehensive list of events in Missoula and around Western Montana, all right here for you to make your own Weekend PICKS – Thursday thru Sunday!
With the big game happening on Sunday, pretty much any bar with between one and 30 big screens will be hosting viewing parties – pick one, and settle in. The only thing we can predict is some of the commercials will be pretty good, and the halftime show will be a good excuse to get outside to stretch and get some fresh air.
Similarly, since Valentine’s Day is this coming Tuesday, the weekend is a great chance to celebrate early with a date night and local entertainment with a little less pressure than getting a reservation on the 14th. Most local dining establishments have romantic dinner options – book ahead!
With this past week’s weather, spring skiing conditions are coming into play with very good snow conditions at the upper elevations. Check ahead for the local snow reports, and go! Many of the local cross-country and fat biking hotspots are being groomed and skiied. Get out and shred that gnar!
There are nearly 100 local music shows of one kind or another in the area throughout the weekend. We’ve got options!
No matter what direction you wanna get outta town, you can’t go wrong. Lots of Superbowl / Valentine’s weekend activities and events are happening not only around Missoula, but all the way up the Flathead and the Bitterroot valleys, east to Phillipsburg and Anaconda, and out west past Alberton.
Get out and enjoy our locally-owned bars & restaurants with Montana grown / made food and beverages. Support our local farmers and crafts people. Take the family for a crisp hike or some amazing skiing. Catch a classic movie screening or a stand-up comedy night. Stretch that big brain at one of the local trivia nights. Sing your favorite karaoke song, or catch a live music show. Enjoy safely and responsibly.
Please confirm event details at the source before you go. Last minute changes are common, especially due to weather. With each event listing, we try to include a web page or event link with more information you can check for changes.

I Think We Should Break Up is a musical cabaret that – using the music of Cher, Amy Winehouse, Bruno Mars, the Beatles, and many more – explores the inevitable ups and downs that come with the end of a relationship.
Fun, funny, and a little heartfelt, this show is for everyone who’s ever had to contend with a broken heart.

ABOUT BIG RICHARD
What began as an all-female festival collab quickly morphed into a serious passion project driven by sisterhood, harmony and humor……along with the shared desire to rage fiddle tunes and smash the patriarchy.
Big Richard is a neo-acoustic super group made up of four well established Colorado musicians: Bonnie Sims on mandolin (Bonnie & Taylor Sims/Everybody Loves An Outlaw/Bonnie & the Clydes), Joy Adams on cello (Nathaniel Rateliff/Darol Anger/Half Pelican), Emma Rose on bass + guitar (Sound of Honey/Daniel Rodriguez/Whippoorwill) and Eve Panning on fiddle (Lonesome Days).
Formed in late 2021, the band gained immediate notoriety for their charismatic stage presence and their vocal/instrumental prowess. After selling out all of their club shows Big Richard quickly started confirming festival appearances across America. 2022 is sure to be a big year!!

His music blends soft, dreamlike indie folk elements of artists like Nick Drake, José Gonzales, Damien Rice and Elliott Smith with roots and Americana influences from artists like Fleet Foxes and Gregory Alan Isakov. His songs combine traditional storytelling with abstract imagery and warm, sweeping acoustic textures that invite listeners into melancholy, introspective landscapes.
