Peace out summer, hello fall! – feel the chill in the air? The MUG has compiled the most comprehensive list of events in Missoula and around Western Montana, all right here for you to make your own First Weekend of Autumn PICKS!
Saturday happens to be National Public Lands Day – entrance fees are being waived for the day at all National Parks: road trip!
The onset of fall means at least one thing – Oktoberfest season is here. We have several celebrations to choose from this weekend, and more looking ahead. In Missoula, Bayern Brewing has their “Funktoberfest” from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and the Dram Shop Central has their Oktoberfest Block Party happening from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Unbox those lederhosen and sweaters, find your old favorite stein and make some plans.
Summer Farmers Markets season is starting to wind down, with most of the area markets hitting their final stretch. Thursday is the last one of the year for Frenchtown Farmers Market. Go stock up with all the seasonal produce while you can.
There are over 90 local music shows of one kind or another in the area throughout the weekend… we have options! If you’re looking for some extra spice, Stave & Hoop has the Stella Pearl Burlesque Show on Saturday night in Downtown Missoula.
No matter what direction you wanna get outta town, you can’t go wrong. Lots of early fall weekend activities and events are happening not only around Missoula, but all the way up the Flathead and the Bitterroot valleys, east to Phillipsburg and Anaconda, and out west past Alberton. If you’re headed up to Glacier, there are some outstanding pit stops to make along the way.
Get out and enjoy our locally-owned bars & restaurants with Montana grown / made food and beverages – if you hadn’t gotten the memo recently, they need your business! Try a new local brew! Support our local farmers and crafts people at the farmers markets. Take the family for a crisp fall hike, or get the bikes out for a cool ride. Catch a classic movie screening or a stand-up comedy night. Stretch that big brain at one of the local trivia nights. Sing your favorite karaoke song, or catch a live music show. Enjoy safely and responsibly.
